“Journey around the World” Cooking Camp for girls is a 5 week intimate gathering of 10-12 teen girls, ranging from 13-18 years of age. Our mission is to take them on an exciting sensory journey around the world filled with endless possibilities. The benefits include immersing oneself in the country’s culture, learning new cooking skills, all while enjoying the world’s various cuisines and meeting and breaking bread with unstoppable women/ girls from the country that we are visiting .
At the end of the sessions she will discover the rich cuisines, cultures of various countries around the world. Our hope is that She will leave inspired, and empowered to dream big, make bold moves and give her the confidence to find HER seat at the table and make friends to last a lifetime.
This summer we are offering 5 cooking sessions, exploring various cuisines from around the world.
DATE / TIME : Every Wednesday Starting July 13th, 2022 . 9.00 am -1.00 PM
9:00 am – 12:00 pm: Learn to prepare a 3 Course menu : Includes Starter/ Appetizer , Main Course and Dessert
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm: A SEAT AT THE TABLE : Enjoy the meal that you have prepared with an Unstoppable 100 woman from the country we visited. Break Bread with her and listen to her inspiring journey

MEET CHEF ELIEEN PEWITT
Culinarian/Chef Apprentice Eileen Pewitt was trained at Columbus Culinary Institute and has taught cooking classes for years at Healthy New Albany. Eileen is an energetic, highly self-motivated and hardworking culinary professional with a blend of creativity, passion for food and exceptional cooking skills.
Purpose: Expand knowledge of cultural diversity through study of the heritage cuisines of 5 continents and geopolitical regions of the world.
Goal : Learn about historical influence on current day trends and the cultural identity of various areas around the world and allow our teens to be empowered toward independence and make new friends.
5 week Cooking Class series within the kitchen environment at Center for Healthy New Albany
Program objectives are to offer each participant increased knowledge in kitchen safety and cooking skills.
Weekly instruction will include both lecture and hands- on activities
Participants will share time with culturally diverse Role Models
each week highlighted in Role Model Magazine’s Unstoppable100 Coffee Table Book
