Three words to describe you:
Entrepreneur, industry disruptor, & legend
What is your story?:
A young legend was born when Amara decided she wanted to live a life that leaves a legacy long after she is gone. She inspires others to achieve the impossible. Amara graduated from high school and college in one week at the age of sixteen. She now shares her story as a seventeen-year-old business owner changing the world one word at a time. as said in her TedX speech, her story of countless setbacks while setting exceedingly elevated goals led to early accomplishments. Amara is a role model defying the stereotypes set before she was born, that propelled her motivation to succeed in higher education and business. She is a prime example of someone who started from nothing, but with a great mentor that happened to also be her mother and the appropriate resources she found a way to ignite her passion for advocacy. she travels the country speaking of how to achieve what may seem beyond the bounds of possibility. She truly embodies her community and commitment to serving her greater purpose as well as leaving a legacy for future generations.
How did you get to where you are now?:
I am a teenage entrepreneur because of my dedication to make an impact. I value how I serve others to pursue their purpose. my belief in myself is very important as a motivational speaker. I have to teach what I preach.
What were your goals when approaching your current career?:
My goals that have led me to who i am today was to share my in depth story with the world through speaking and my book. i love assisting people in achieving their impossible goal by leaving them with attainable steps and value. i carry that mission with every conversation I have.
What obstacles did you overcome to get where you are today?
I have overcome many brick walls including adults doubting my worth and maturity. when i first started college classes at fourteen years old, professors would insult my intelligence. for my high school senior project, i wanted to build a product that converts household waste into natural gas for cars, but was told by several scientists that it could not be done in one summer. after three months and a great mentor, I build a 3-d design to transform the world’s waste into the next energy source. I was also told that i would not be able to graduate college on time because of one class I took that did not apply to my program. I eventually took 18 college credits to make sure I could graduate at my goal date.
What is your greatest accomplishment so far?:
That is a hard question, but I do have a few things to be proud i graduated high school and college at 16 years old. i am an author at board member of a women organization at 17 years old. There is a lot to be happy about since I completed so much before I became an adult.
Who is your role model?
My mother is my role model because she has remained by my side through the ups and downs of my journey. she helped edit my blog posts, she takes my business headshots, and she travels with me for my speaking engagements. She also helped me register my business, and always listens as I practice my speeches. she is my rock and my cheerleader.
What is your advice for girls?:
My advice for girls is to start a business and begin to put in the time while you are young. leverage your age and run with it. Any business takes a few years to become stable and sometimes profitable. even if this means starting a blog like I did or launching a non-profit organization to support a great cause, to gain traction use what is unique, your age and dedication.
Do you have a personal mantra or favorite quote?:
My favorite quote is something that came to me and I use often for my brand,
“Every young legend started out with a dream to
What does it mean “to lead an unstoppable life” to you?:
Leading an unstoppable life means living a life on your term and reaping the benefits of what you sow. If you want to be a digital nomad that travels the world while programming the world’s technology or starting a community organization that helps minorities learn how to program, you have the financial means to do so. an unstoppable life for you should not stop at you, but plant seeds for trees that you may never enjoy the shade of.
